The Neil Vines Trust is very happy to announce that on the 1st July 2016 we gave our first family a very special weekend break away. Lauren, along with her Mum and her Grandparents stayed for 3 nights in a Log Cabin overlooking a beautiful Lake in the Cotswolds.
In her own words, Lauren had this to say about the weekend:- "thank you so much for this opportunity. I've really enjoyed being able to spend a relaxing weekend with my Mum and Grandparents. I loved the beautiful surroundings and the chance to do some bird watching. I visited the Corinium Museum with my Grandad for a day out but the rest of the time I relaxed, which did me good."
Unfortunately just 3 short weeks later we received the very sad news that Lauren had passed away on 29th July, aged 20.
Lauren's Mum, Sharon, still wanted us to put this little write-up on the website and to share some photos of the weekend. She had this to say:- "thank you for the opportunity to make great memories on our weekend at the Lodge it meant so much. We had a fantastic weekend at the Lodge, it was very relaxing and Lauren loved watching the swans and geese."
This weekend would not have been possible without the support of all of the fundraisers who have been working hard since the charity was established. The Neil Vines Trust aims to allow young people living with cancer an opportunity to enjoy a special escape with their families and we are so glad we could offer this to Lauren and her family. Our thoughts are with Sharon and the family at this difficult time.
We plan on sending more young people and their families shortly. Thank you for your continued support.
