Neil's Fundraising

 

Neil was dedicated to helping others, and did so through fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust. Neil raised a staggering £5,500 for Teenage Cancer Trust and this does not include the hundreds of thousands of pounds raised through ITV This Morning's 2014 Text Santa Appeal. 

Cycling Lands End to John O'Groats

 

Neil set himself the challenge of riding 600 miles; the equivalant of Lands End to John O'Groats as the crow flies on a static bike whilst on chemotherapy!

The Three Peaks Challenge

 

Following Neil's succesful 600 mile bike ride, he didn't want to stop there. Neil set himself the next goal of completing the Three Peaks Challenge on a stepper, climbing the equivalent of Ben Nevis, Scalfel Pike and Snowdon the three highest mountains in the UK.

ITV This Morning's Text Santa Appeal

 

As part of his fundraising efforts for Teenage Cancer Trust, Neil was selected to represent the charity in ITV This Morning's Text Santa appeal in December 2014. This appeal was to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and five other worthy charities. Neil was interviewed in November and it was aired to millions on 3rd December. Cycle a marathon on a trike

 

Neil's final challenge was to complete the equivalent distance of a marathon (26 miles) on his new trike. Neil craved independence, however his illness and the subsequent treatments very much limited his oppurtunites. Neil purchased a recumbent bike/ trike in order to fulfil his aspiration of achieving this momentous challenge.

Neil's invitation to the Queen's Garden Party

Neil worked tirelessly to help others as you will have read. As a credit for all his hard work, Neil along with Sarah were invited to attend the Queen's Garden Party! This is no ordinary event and requires an official invitation. It is with great sadness that Neil could not be there on the day, however Mum represented Neil as the proud mother she is.
