24 Hour Charity Cycle Ride for The Neil Vines Trust

By kind permission of HMS Nelson at the historic Naval Dockyard Portsmouth, The Neil Vines Trust was able to hold a 24 hour cycling event with the beautiful and very iconic backdrop of HMS Victory. Organised by sister Sarah, with the help of friends and co-workers Debbie Rand and Charlotte Warren, the event was to raise money for the charity. The idea behind the event was that Neil managed to cylce Lands End to John O'Groats on a static bike whilst on chemo so raised over £5000 for Teenage Cancer Trust!

With keen volunteers each paying £5 for an hour slot on the bikes, this was sure to be some event! On sale whilst the cyclists were busy throughout the 24 hours were copies of Neil's memoir and the wristbands that have recenty been created for The Neil Vines Trust.

As well as the cycling, the organisers spoke with local businesses who kindly donated some fantastic prizes for a raffle. With a special thank you to all those companies that donated here are a list of some of the prizes that were on offer:

Radley handbag worth £110;

Nandos vouchers;

Meal for 2 at Loch Fyne;

£50 All Bar One voucher;
